Grantee Partners
Under the name, The Kaleta A. Doolin Foundation has awarded more than $15.7 million to 112 organizations since 2016. In 2022, we awarded $3.72 million in grants, and after the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24 (2022), we designated $1 million in charitable gifts toward women’s essential healthcare and reproductive justice.
In 2023, we awarded and maintained our commitment to designating $1 million toward reproductive healthcare and justice. We were also thrilled that our contribution to the National Science Foundation to support gender equity in the Geosciences was matched 5 to 1 by NSF and resulted in the Ocean Decade Champions program, in which 31 women geoscientists are receiving support to represent the US contribution to the UN Ocean Decade. In addition, 27 of our grants were matched by Pivotal Ventures, a Melinda French Gates company, through a partnership with the National Center for Family Philanthropy, for a total of more than $650,000. Thus, our efforts to support women and girls, which were matched by other organizations, increased our total 2023 funding by an additional 25%!
